When we decided to spend a special occasion at one of the most luxurious hotels in Cabo (and in the world), my soon-to-be husband immediately booked our three night romantic weekend getaway at the Esperanza Resort, Los Cabos from the Auberge Resort Collection. From check-in to check-out, the lavish accommodations and amenities, white-glove service, and unequivocally stunning views brought us into a state of relaxation and bliss. This recent Cabo trip and stay at the Esperanza Resort was surprisingly my first trip to Mexico. There isn’t a better place to visit than Cabo as there are several easy direct flights from our home in Houston, Texas. The postcard perfect, 17 acre oceanfront, Esperanza Resort property is ideal place for couples, families of all ages, and groups of friends.
Arrival:
We arranged for the hotel to pick us up at the airport. As soon as we entered the arrivals area, we located our driver with our family name on a Esperanza Resort board. We loaded into the new black Cadillac Escalade stocked with cold waters and light refreshments. Our friendly English and Spanish speaking driver offered information about Los Cabos, our stay, and things to do at the resort and in Mexico.
Upon arrival, the staff greeted us with delicious Welcome Drinks made with Pura Vida Tequila (of course, our favorite!). We arrived early in the morning so our room was not ready for check-in. Our tummies needed some food so we enjoyed a beautiful brunch at the Cocina Del Mar restaurant. The brunch buffet was so good that we had a to sample a little bit of everything. If you are not in the mood for the buffet, guests can order off of the menu as well.
After breakfast, we were escorted to a hospitality room to relax and change into our swim clothes for some pool action.
Rooms:
Esperanza translates to “hope,” but we were immediately checking into a resort beyond our wildest dreams. I’ve been to many five-star resorts throughout the years and the Esperanza is something special. We stayed in an incredibly spacious villa located in the Private Residences part of the resort. As I explored our villa, it became clear I was in resort heaven! Our private entrance three bedroom, three and a half bathroom home included a full kitchen, dining room, large outdoor furnished terrace, luxury linens, dual shower heads and luxury bath products, flat screen televisions, twice daily housekeeping, and nightly turn-down service.
Amenities:
Catering to health and wellness enthusiasts, Esperanza Resort is home to award-winning spa treatments and fitness programs, oceanfront infinity pools, sculpture garden and koi pond, as well as fun activities like whale watching, sport fishing, cooking classes, golf, sailing and more!
Food and Drink:
At every meal, I believe I said, “ I can’t get over how delicious and fresh this is…!” My Gal Pal Cat commented, “It is so fresh, it almost tastes weird…in the good way!” We enjoyed all of our meals. I love fresh fish so I ordered tons of fresh Baja style fish dishes–PPP TIP–order the Grouper Ceviche. The menus at the resort appeared to be designed just for me each item getting me more excited than the last. My favorite restaurant on the property is Cocina del Mar with an open air lookout cliff terrace, but all the restaurants( La Palapa, Las Estrellas, La Terraza Americana, PESCA Ceviche Bar and The Lounge Bar) were great. Honestly, I wish I took more photos of the food and its presentation because it was that incredible.
Arriving at the waterfront resort, guests are immediately transported to a lush green and exotic flower seaside paradise. The staff with its impeccable formal service always greeted us by our names and made us feel so welcome and so important. At the Esperanza Resort, no one has a bad day. It is the perfect retreat for any group or even a solo trip. I look forward to spending more time in this extraordinary luxury oasis!
