Good Morning Everyone! I hope your weekend is off to a great start! Luckily for me, the weekend begins on Friday so I slept in a bit–to 8AM or so. The usual wake-up time is 4:30AM so 8AM feels like you slept the day away–just kidding.
I began the day with a 8 mile run. It was perfect weather conditions so no complaining over here. I only have a few weeks left until my next Half Marathon so I am trying to do a better job in the training department. So far so good! Here are some snapshots from the run!
After watching the Oscars, D and I decided we must see Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance). Generally speaking, I do not like going to the movie theater. For one, I feel it is very expensive when Redbox is super cheap. Secondly, I like having my own snacks and drinks, discussing or reacting to scenes from a movie without being rude, and the option to pause for a bathroom wine refill break. In college, I took a few film classes which sparked my appreciation and love for films and film making. My heart lies with French Cinematography, but there is a lot of great work out there. Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) is most definitely an outstanding work of art. From the characters to the camerawork to the music–there is a lot to discuss and analyze which is right up my alley!
D found an awesome deal from Dealflicks(www.dealflicks.com) for movie tickets at the Carmike Cinemas, located in the newly renovated Sundial Downtown St. Pete. We purchased two adult tickets including two medium popcorn for only $7.00 each. Unfortunately, the popcorn can not be substituted for a different concession item, but $7.00 a ticket at a very nice movie theater is a pretty good deal!
After the movie, we headed up to Ruth’s Chris to sit outside and enjoy their $8 Happy Hour menu (http://www.ruthschris.com/bar/happy-hour). I must say, Happy Hour menus are one of my favorite things!
FYI: The Tenderloin Skewer Salad was my favorite!
