After some research, we chose to stay at the family-run, Cill Bhreac House B&B based on the location, price, and stellar reviews. Dingle has a wide range of B&B accommodations, therefore, it was a little overwhelming to decide where to stay. We realized that it wasn’t worth racking our heads over the decision because there were many perfect places to rest and have a magnificent breakfast in the beautiful southwest region of Ireland!
Cill Bhreac House is located about 1km west from Dingle Town Center on Slea Head Drive. The house itself has beautiful panoramic views of Dingle Bay and the surrounding Dingle mountains. John and Angela McCarthy, along with their son, Ronan, run the Bed & Breakfast and were the perfect hosts! Prior to our arrival and during our stay, the McCarthy’s were thrilled to respond to all our requests and questions. They offered wonderful restaurant recommendations and even suggested a unique driving route and sightseeing stops on our way to Dublin.
The Cill Bhreac House is a cozy, warm, and inviting B&B. It is simple, but very comfortable and spacious. We stay at Marriott properties whenever possible, so it was refreshing to enjoy a true Irish country experience. Undoubtedly, the highlight of our stay was the morning breakfast. In the breakfast room, there was a menu board offering many dishes. Also, there was a buffet table full of continental items like fresh fruit, cereals, yogurt, baked goods, and juices. Guests helped themselves to the continental spread and then placed their breakfast orders with the hostess. We ordered an Irish Breakfast and a Poached Eggs with Smoked Salmon with fresh French Press coffee. We were impressed by the quality and quantity of the breakfast included in our rate. After we filled our bellies with a delicious breakfast, we packed up, said our goodbyes, and began our drive to Dublin via Conor’s Pass.
We recommend Cill Bhreac House without hesitation. Thanks again to the McCarthy’s!
